Are CTPG Essential Oils Better Than Organic Essential Oils?

I Was Shocked...

We get so many people who are saying "CTPG oils are better than organic oils", and I'm sure you've probably heard that too.
I realize people are NOT getting correct education on the topic of How To Tell Higher Grade Essential Oils From Lower Grade Ones.
Because of this, people are being tricked by fancy marketing claims into buying lower grade essential oils. It makes me sad, so I am writing this email.

As I went through the USDA certification process I learned a lot about what it really means to be certified organic directly from the USDA. Being USDA certified organic means:

USDA certified organic:

  • It's A Term Granted to the Company by the USDA
  • Regulated by A Neutral Third Party (the USDA)
  • Requires Company Certification
  • Requires Biannual USDA Inspections
  • Produced ONLY From Certified Organic Crops
  • Toxic Biocides Not Allowed in Crop Production
  • Uses Only NONGMO Plants
  • Must Produce Verification and Papers of Certified Organic Farming for every oil
  • Means the Essential Oil is Organic
  • Only USDA Certified Organic Companies Can Use This Term
  • A REAL Sign of Quality in Essential Oils
  • A Much Higher Standard Verified by the USDA
  • Verified Higher Quality Product by the USDA

Now let's look at what these other marketing claims really mean:

CPTG (certified pure therapeutic grade)
100% pure therapeutic grade
Seed to seal
"Better than" organic (*)
  • Company Gives Itself This Term
  • Not Regulated by Any Neutral Third Party
  • Requires NO Company Certification or Verification
  • May Be Produced From NONOrganic Crops
  • Toxic Biocides May Be Used in Crop Production (**)
  • May Use GMO Plants
  • Does Not Require ANY Verification or Papers
  • Does NOT Mean the Essential Oil is Organic
  • Any Company Can Use This Unregulated Term (exept CTPG which is trademarked)
  • NOT A Real Sign of Quality in Essential Oils
  • A Low Standard, Verification NOT Required by Any Third Party
  • Tricky Marketing Term Created ONLY to make the Consumer THINK they're getting higher quality oils than they are really getting.
*Better than Organic is an Illegal Term and does not exist. There is nothing better than organically produced products. If ANY company uses this deceptive, confusing, and illegal term to describe their oils, PLEASE report that company to the USDA who regulates this to prevent companies from deceiving consumers.
**Toxic Biocides used in NONorganic farming include but are not limited to: Pesticides, Insecticides, Herbicides, Larvicides, Chemical Fertilizers, Sewage Sludge all of which go through the distillation process, become concentrated, and are in the resulting NONorganic essential oil.
It's also false that companies cannot get certified organic produce from other countries. If our little company can, then so can ANY company. That is just what they say to excuse themselves from really getting certified organic products.

I made this graph for a visual of what it really means to be organically certified. USDA certified organic essential oils are the highest quality. Don't fall for tricky marketing claims! They do NOT mean you're getting a better oil.
Another thing to consider: Purify Skin Therapy was founded by a Certified Aromatherapist. Most of those other big companies don't even have a Certified Aromatherapist in their entire company. It's better to buy from a company with a Certified Aromatherapist for a plethora of reasons. They know more about the oils, safety, age-appropriate use, etc.

I Hope You Can See The Difference

It is a BIG deal to be USDA certified organic.

It is some FANCY marketing to be using any of those other self-given terms.

Don't fall for fancy marketing claims! If you're going to spend your money on essential oils get the good ones.
Here at Purify Skin Therapy we pride ourselves on offering the highest quality product on the market. We work hard to bring you only the best USDA certified organic and wildcrafted essential oils. We know if you buy one of our USDA certified organic oils and compare it to any other brand you will see the difference for yourself.
