How to Heal Scars

We all, at one time or another, will receive a wound that will leave a scar. Although there is no guarantee essential oils will completely heal and hide a scar, they can help fight infection, heal a wound more quickly and lighten a scar, making them less noticeable.

We have discussed before that the most versatile essential oil available is Lavender. It is gentler on the skin than other oils when properly diluted and lavender provides tissue regenerative properties that may accelerate the healing process of the scar tissue. Lavender also carries anti-inflammatory constituents that enable it to be an effective remedy for burns. Another amazing oil for scars is Frankincense.

Frankincense was at one time used for trading and was valued more highly than gold. It has many medicinal uses, being highly prized for it's effect on all kinds of skin issues and powerful healing qualities. Like Lavender, it is highly anti-inflammatory and works beautifully for anti aging and scars.

To apply:
  • Be sure to only use organic essential oils.
  • Dilute 6 drops of lavender and 6 drops of frankincense into 1 oz. of a carrier oil
  • Apply once a day to scar tissue
